6.2 Reflection
Candidates regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. (PSC 6.2/ISTE 6c)
The artifact that supports Standard 6.2 is the Weebly Blog that was written and developed throughout the duration of the Instructional Technology Program. After each course, I reflected on the specific topics studied and the experiences that I had. Each reflection details my abilities as an educator and technology coach.
Standard 6.2, Reflection, establishes the expectations for candidates to regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. This artifact required me to regularly evaluate and reflect on my professional practice and dispositions throughout my coursework. Frequently blogging has allowed me to reflect on how my learning has impacted faculty improvement and student achievement. Reflecting has proven to be a powerful and crucial part of my learning experience and has allowed for me to self-evaluate and make changes accordingly to improve my skills as a technology coach and facilitator.
This artifact has allowed me to keep a record of what I have learned throughout the instructional technology program. I have been able to reflect upon my professional and personal growth as an educator and envision how I want to continue to grow as an educator to further impact faculty and students. I have also learned that reflecting in a timely manner is important in order to get the most out of the reflection process.
This artifact has impacted faculty development and student learning as the process has made me a better teacher, technology coach and leader. I can use the, trials, tribulations, and successes that were experienced to pass on the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that I have acquired to others. By continually reflecting on my experiences I hope to inspire others to reflect on their own practices which could ultimately be assessed through observation.
